Co-Chaired by BNM and SC Malaysia, the Joint Committee on Climate Change (JC3) is a regulator-industry platform established to coordinate efforts to improve Malaysia’s readiness to tackle the various impacts arising from climate change. This includes enhancing the preparedness of banks & insurers in managing climate-related risks besides encouraging both corporates & SMEs to embrace sound ESG practices.
The SME Focus Group (SFG) is the JC3 sub-committee tasked with helping Malaysian SMEs to embrace sustainability and to facilitate their transition towards a low carbon economy. Apart from improving SMEs’ awareness and understanding of ESG, SFG also devises strategies to promote SME uptake of green initiatives and financing.
