A qualified carpenter by trade, licenced builder, certified building designer, former General Manager of a multimillion dollar commercial construction company and now founder and Director of a registered charity, she has literally worked from the ground up to be where she is today.

She founded National Not-for-Profit regsitered Charity organisation Build Like A Girl in August 2020, as a direct call to action to help women gain apprenticeship employment, receive mentoring and support, and to combat the negative cultural experiences women face in construction every day.

Jo has served as a board Director for YWCA, NAWIC and Tradeswomen Australia, as well as being actively involved with Busy Sisters, MEGT, EWIT and Trellis collective to assist with grant approvals, funding applications and mentor program delivery across Australia.

In 2021 Jo and her female team completed construction on the Strathnairn Charity House, a project which was designed, built and sold by women, which raised over $509,000 for local female focused charities.

A landmark project in Canberra, the Charity House also generated apprenticeship employment for 27 women, creating a network supporting each other in trades. Since 2020, Jo has helped hundreds of women gain full time employment and regularly assists with programs, initiatives and services aimed at changing the 4% participation rate.

Her philanthropy and advocacy work have been widely recognised and awarded, and she now splits her time between running programs and speaking at public events to raise further awareness and action in the construction industry on the challenges women still face, and how we need to change the culture for women and gender diverse people to thrive.

Steve Williams is the Executive Director at Safer Together.  He has been involved with Safer Together since its inception in 2013.  Steve is a Mechanical Engineer with a MBA.  He has worked as a HSE professional in the Oil and Gas Industry for more than 30 years. He was born and raised in Sydney and has lived and worked in Australia, the United States, Oman, the Philippines and the Russian Federation. He has been living in Perth since 2008.  Steve is married with 3 kids.

Lara has worked in the offshore energy sector for 18 years and leads the industry development team for Xodus in APAC with a focus on supply chain, workforce and training. She has recently led the development of showcase material to highlight supply chain and workforce opportunities in interconnectors, offshore wind, CCUS and hydrogen. In recent years, Lara’s work has been focused on supporting clients map pathways for market entry and for workers to transition into renewables sectors.

In addition to this, Lara supports social impact assessments and renewables training program. In Australia, Lara has supported more than five Feasibility Licence applications with workforce development strategies, authored the Star of the South 'Jobs Guide' and 'Transition Guide for Workers'.

Additionally, Lara authored the 'Coal to Offshore Wind: Transition Opportunities' which was commissioned as part of the Victorian Government Clean Economy Workforce Development Strategy, the Marinus Link Jobs Guide and the Murchison Green Hydrogen Jobs Guide as well as project managing several offshore wind and green hydrogen supply chain studies.

Siti is leading PETRONAS’ Group Net Zero Carbon Emissions Delivery and Embedment in accordance with corporate commitments, international frameworks and standards, and industry’s best practices.

A chemical engineer by trade and an energy professional with 25 years of experience stretching from Liquefied Natural Gas and Upstream technical and operations, operational excellence, governance, and assurance to corporate strategy and sustainability.

Siti is a recipient of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)’s Leading Women Awards for 2022.

Syed Saggaf currently heads the Energy Industries Council’s (EIC) activities across the Asia Pacific region from the organisation’s Kuala Lumpur office. In this strategic role, he supports EIC members and strengthens the Council’s presence and influence across one of the world’s most vital and dynamic energy markets.

Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Oil and Gas Division at Shapadu Group, overseeing operations across both upstream and downstream sectors, including the management of marine assets. He also held the role of Executive Director at Shapadu Energy Sdn Bhd and Shapadu CR Asia Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary focused on downstream maintenance and turnaround services.

He got his early education in English College, Johor Bahru and Sekolah Menengah Sains Muar, Johor. Subsequently, he graduated from Universiti Tenaga Nasional in 2002 with Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (Hons). Upon graduation, he started his career as Mechanical / Piping Engineer with Haven Engineering and continued his career with stints at Ramunia Fabricators Sdn Bhd in 2004, and Coral Intoil Sdn Bhd in 2008.

Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated unparalleled leadership and management excellence, supported by superior communication and interpersonal skills that have propelled his career forward. He was the driving force behind securing Contracts worth RM 2b and spearheading the strategic diversification of the company’s portfolio. Moreover, he played a critical role in attracting high-value investors and launching the SCRA with a modest paid-up capital of RM100K successfully scaling its value to an impressive RM50 million

He served 2 consecutive terms as President of MOGSC, Malaysia’s largest oil & gas trade association, until April 2026. During his tenure, he helped elevate the OGSE sector through continuous engagement with key stakeholders to foster a conducive energy ecosystem. He continues to contribute to the local OGSE industry in his current role as Advisor to MOGSC.

In addition to his executive roles, he also served as the Ambassador of UNITEN, Vice and VISTA Advisory Council Member, OGSE Roundtable (ORT) Committee Member, Main Committee Member of the Energy Industry Malaysia (EIM), and Advisory Committee Member of the Pipeline Technology Conference Asia (PTC).

Bilal Mazloom is the Global Learning & Competency Director at ADES, leading learning, training, and competency development initiatives across operations in more than 20 countries in his current role. He oversees the delivery of technical training, professional certifications, and competency programs that support the development of over 10,000+ employees annually across the drilling and energy sectors.

Since entering the Oil & Gas industry in 2007, Bilal has built extensive expertise in workforce development, competency assurance, and organizational learning, including consulting for major Oil & Gas contractors. In addition to his corporate leadership role, he serves as Vice Chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) at the Saudi Arabian Drilling Academy (SADA) and as the DROPS Saudi Chapter Champion, contributing to industry advancement, safety excellence, and the development of future drilling professionals.

Started his seafaring days with Blue Funnel Ltd, United Kingdom, Straits Shipping Ltd, Singapore and a couple of voyages with misc and Pernas Nasional Shipping Line (PNSL)

Left the sea to become a harbour pilot with Klang port authority, then joined Petronas in the marine sector doing inspection, port and pilotage management and special projects.

Seconded to misc in the Offshore Business Unit (OBU) before venturing into business with Global Maritime Offshore Services (GMOS) Sdn Bhd. Joined MOSVA as Secretary General in 2017.

Azhar, graduated in University Teknologi MARA for bachelor’s in chemical engineering and began his career with PETRONAS in 1998 as a Production Supervisor during the pre-commissioning stage of CDU PSR-2, before progressing to the role of Operations Engineer.

In 2009, he was appointed as Refinery Shift Manager, overseeing the PP(M)SB and MRCSB complexes, and subsequently served as the Operations Focal Person for the PSR-2 Revamp Project. In 2012, he was appointed Area Manager for the Sour Conversion section and was reassigned in 2014 to lead the Sour Hydroskimming section.

In 2016, Azhar was transferred to the Pengerang Refinery and Petrochemical Complex (PRefChem), where he played a key role in the pre-commissioning and commissioning of the Refinery and Cracker complexes as Commissioning Manager. He was subsequently appointed Plant Head, Refinery Complex in 2018, before taking on the role of Plant Head, Steam Cracker Complex in 2020.

In 2023, Azhar joined PETRONAS Technical Training Sdn. Bhd. (PTTSB) as Head, Learning Academy. He currently serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of PTTSB, bringing more than two decades of extensive experience across refinery operations, commissioning, plant leadership, technical training and organisational development.

Gordon Ballard is a Director of the OPITO Group (and Chairperson of OPITO International), the global, not-for-profit, safety and skills body for the energy industry

Previously he was the Executive Director of the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP). Gordon joined the Association in 2016 after spending 34 years working with oilfield services company, Schlumberger, on four continents in a variety of operational and management roles.

He became Schlumberger’s UK Chairman in 2005. He has also served as Chairman of the UK Government’s Oil and Gas Industry Council and was co-Chairman of the industry trade association, Oil & Gas UK and Step Change in Safety.

Gordon graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering and with a Masters in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University.

He also holds honorary doctorates from Heriot-Watt and Robert Gordon Universities.

With more than 24 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Mursyidie has held leadership positions across manufacturing, operations and upstream businesses, developing extensive experience in operational risk management, process safety, occupational health, environmental stewardship, organisational capability development and business governance.

Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in driving industry collaboration, strengthening safety culture, advancing human performance, and shaping sustainable HSSE practices across the Malaysian energy sector.

He is a strong advocate of leadership through trust, care and accountability, and frequently engages with industry leaders, regulators and international partners to advance operational excellence and sustainable value creation.

Today, he continues to champion safe, responsible and resilient upstream operations while supporting the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of Malaysia's petroleum industry.

With more than 35 years of distinguished industry experience, including 15 years in international maritime operations and 22 years with CNOOC, Mr. Yang Lijun is a highly respected professional in offshore energy safety, maritime operations, workforce competency and professional training.

He currently serves as Chief Expert and Business Director at CNOOC Safety Production Training Centre, while also contributing his expertise to the China Institution of Navigation as well as a think-tank expert for the Crew Service Industry Association, Tianjin and Ship’s Pollution Prevention Association, Tianjin. Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Yang has played an instrumental role in strengthening professional competency and safety standards across China’s offshore energy and maritime sectors.

An OPITO and GWO-certified instructor, Mr. Yang has led significant initiatives to introduce and advance internationally recognised competency frameworks in China. Notably, he led his team in establishing China’s first OPITO-approved training centre, as well as pioneering training accreditation for vessels powered by gas and other low-flashpoint fuels under the China Maritime Safety Administration. He has further contributed to the development of national safety training standards for offshore petroleum operations and maritime safety competencies, demonstrating his commitment to raising industry standards and strengthening workforce capability.

Combining extensive frontline experience with strategic leadership and a strong understanding of competency development, Mr. Yang is recognised for translating complex technical requirements into practical, effective and industry-relevant learning solutions.

Amy Chetcuti is Managing Director of Downright Diesel. A maintenance solutions provider purpose-built to raise the industry maintenance standards across the mining, resources, civil and construction sectors.

Her 18-year career has taken her across multiple continents, and to some of the world's most extreme working environments, including Antarctica multiple times, where she worked as an expedition mechanic.

A tradeswoman, business leader and advocate for the future of the global resources’ workforce, she knows what it takes to build a career, build a team and build a business from the ground up.

Amy has been named International Tradeswoman of the Year, Top 100 women, 2023 Excellence in Mining, all recognising her contribution to the trades and her leadership within the industry. In addition to this, her company Downright Diesel was named Australian small business of the year in 2025.

Today, Amy combines hands-on technical experience with business leadership, specialising in people, culture, workforce attraction and retention, leadership and high-risk industry performance. Understanding the industry from both sides of the table, that ground-up perspective shapes her approach to leadership, workforce development, safety, culture and performance.

She is passionate about challenging outdated thinking around the skilled workforce and creating environments where people are not only technically capable, but engaged, accountable and genuinely proud of the work they do.

Azwan Sujery B Mamat is a senior HSE and operations leader with 24 years of extensive experience in HSE and operation leadership, shaped by hands-on experience across offshore installations, onshore terminals, field operations, and process safety within the oil and gas industry. Throughout a distinguished career with PETRONAS, he has held a range of operational and leadership positions, including Operational Supervisor, Offshore Installation Manager, Oil and Gas Terminal Superintendant, Field Manager for Small-Marginal Field and Floaters, Process Safety Section Head in Malaysia Upstream and Head of Compliance Assurance for Malaysia Upstream, developing a strong blend of operational insight and strategic HSE expertise.

He currently serves as Senior Manager, HSSE Governance & Risk at PETRONAS Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), where he leads and advises on HSE governance frameworks, management systems, procedures, and standards that support safe, compliant, and responsible operations across the upstream industry.

Also an ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Auditor, he brings deep expertise in integrating management system requirements with the practical realities of operations.
